About Asha Saroy

Asha Saroy is a Conservative activist and campaigner. She is the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Clapham and Brixton Hill.

Education

Asha grew up in Kent, before studying and graduating with First Class Honours in History at a London University.

Politics

Asha is the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Clapham and Brixton Hill. She says “I am honoured to have been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the new seat of Clapham and Brixton Hill, in the amazing city that I love. Thank you to everyone who is supporting me. I’ve been out talking to residents and look forward to this campaign.”

Asha became involved in the Conservative Party and local politics soon after university, regularly canvassing and campaigning with her MP. Asha stood as a unitary councillor and won her first election in 2015. Asha also campaigned and stood as a candidate in the May local elections.

Work

Asha works in communications, helping communities engage with the planning process. 

Volunteering

Asha has volunteered in a variety of roles from a young age. From serving drinks to elderly hospital patients to a tour guide at the Churchill War Rooms to a Games Maker at the London 2012 Olympics, Asha has experienced it all and is a strong advocate for volunteering to help develop key skills.

Asha has also been a Trustee and Chair of an asthma charity, as well as a primary school governor. Asha continues to volunteer as a Trustee.

Beyond politics

Asha enjoys getting outdoors with long walks with her family. She also explores her creative side by drawing henna designs as well as (re)learning the saxophone (after a 10-year hiatus).
